Who we are

When Volt launched in 2019, we recognised how open banking has the power to transform how businesses, wherever they happen to be, receive payments from their customers. So, we set about building an open payments gateway that enables merchants across the globe to receive direct, account-to-account payments – in real time.

Now, on the back of a record-breaking $23.5 million Series A funding round, we’re building an all-star team to achieve our goal of ‘real-time payments everywhere’.

About the role

As a Product Owner your job will be to understand the high level requirements for a project, analyze the existing solution and come up with a plan to achieve its long term strategic goals through continuous improvements. Your job will be to translate those improvements, if needed with the help of an IT Business Analyst and/or Technical Architect, into well structured requirements that you will then hand over to the developers. In this role you will be working with the developers assigned to your product, but you will also be part of a general Project Planning team that you will report your progress to as well as seek assistance from. Depending on the current goals you might also be working with third parties in order to facilitate integrations with their platforms both to and from Volt.

As a Product Owner you will:

  • Take ownership and lead the initial phases of building IT products, creating a strong proof of concept with a prototype, customer research and a solid business case.
  • Take ownership of the (software) product development process, from idea to implementation.
  • Watch over the product vision and business requirements.
  • Create, manage and prioritize the product backlog.
  • Identify & test critical product assumptions, through product prototyping, user research, technology validation & business case verification.
  • Coordinate internal & external collaborators to deliver the required solution.
  • Lead corporate client relationship within the scope of the project, including potential required workshops and status meetings.
  • Create professional deliverables that support the process, explaining the product value proposition, business model, process steps, etc.
  • Develop our internal capabilities, for the unit and the company.
  • Have an opportunity to lead the whole product creating project, depending on your strengths and preferences.

Competencies and Experience

We are looking for a person with excellent knowledge of both - business and IT world, somebody who can recognise and translate business needs to IT requirements and manage product design and delivery. You are perfect match if you have:

  • Direct experience (at least 2-3 years) in independent IT product management position(s), confirmed with successful implementations.
  • Experience and feel for product prototyping & UX design, enough to manage UX & graphic designers so that our products are user friendly and beautiful.
  • Ability to decompose a high-level concept into business requirements and concrete product backlog.
  • Strong project management skills (experience with Agile methodology would be a plus).
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrated by the ability to communicate project progress and results in a clear and interesting way.
  • You know your way around with SQL, and data tools such as Grafana, to build your own reporting
  • Fluent Polish & English in speech and writing.
  • Preferred professional background: ecommerce, digital agency, IT consulting, software house, digital professional services industry.

A plus would be:

  • Technical background strongly preferred
  • Experience and interest in Financial Services
  • Project management certificate.
